OTIS ARMADA
A roaming pop-up dining series in unconventional locations, 2014–2017.
Otis Armada was a pop-up dining series conceived in 2014, built around the ritualistic aspects of communal eating and the idea that a dining experience could exist anywhere — and mean something more when it did.
Pairing thoughtfully curated food, wine, music and installation art, the series grew from an independent creative outlet into a recognised project collaborating with key figures in Australian food and wine. Events were staged in an old school yard, a chocolate factory, a vacant warehouse in Collingwood and at the base of the Williamsburg Bridge in New York City — each one designed as a singular, non-repeatable experience. The Textbook Otis events at the Collingwood Arts Precinct became a benchmark for the series.
