Festival-wide food & beverage strategy across Melbourne Arts Festival 2020–2021.
At RISING Festival I led food and beverage strategy across multiple large-scale sites and dining activations, with the goal of giving the edible equal precedence to the viewable in the festival's 2021 program.
The first major project was The Lighthouse — a temporary restaurant built atop the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, a first for the venue. Chef David Moyle designed the menu; the activation required close coordination with Arts Centre Melbourne and design and production teams to construct the structure at the edge of the Music Bowl's steep amphitheatre.
The Wilds — the festival's major outdoor precinct at the Music Bowl — featured food programming from Shannon Martinez, Colin Wood, Thi Le, Chase Kojima, Victor Leong, Hector's Deli, Bar Liberty and Atlas Dining, alongside the Birrarung Marr site with Meatsmith. A third strand secured Melbourne Town Hall as a dedicated hub for concept dining events, hosting The Dinner Party, Late Night Yum Cha, The Stock Exchange and Tjanabi — all presented under ticketed models designed to attract both dining and arts audiences.
